You’ll be connected to the Polygon network on your MetaMask wallet. If you have any MATIC tokens, they’ll automatically appear in the wallet UI. But any other Polygon tokens will have to be imported manually. However you might be adding the network, be extra careful and thorough when adding any network (and not just Polygon) on MetaMask.

  1. You can buy, store, sell, and swap tokens (fungible and non-fungible) as well as explore hundreds of blockchain-based apps.
  2. But one thing everyone knows for sure is that you’re going to need a wallet.
  3. On the Metamask app Settings page, select [Networks] to view all available networks on your wallet.
  4. Now, to use MetaMask on the Polygon blockchain, you’ll need to configure it to use the Polygon network.
  5. Once you have the extension installed and correctly set up, click on the Metamask icon in the extensions area of your web browser to launch the Metamask main window.

MetaMask is one of the most popular crypto wallets right now. With MetaMask, the world of Web3 is within your grasp. Available as a mobile app and a browser extension, it makes Web3 a lot more accessible. You can buy, store, sell, and swap tokens (fungible and non-fungible) as well as explore hundreds of blockchain-based apps. There’s a reason many consider it one of the best ways to explore the decentralized web.

Once that is selected, you can easily enter the number of tokens you wish to transfer. After choosing your password, MetaMask will present you with information regarding your wallet’s seed phrase. Make sure to read through it if you aren’t familiar with how a crypto wallet works. Adding Polygon to a MetaMask mobile app differs slightly from the browser extension. Besides, Polygonscan doesn’t have the option of linking the network through the explorer. Here’s a guide on how to add Polygon to your MetaMask on the mobile app.

But MetaMask is, first and foremost, a wallet for the Ethereum blockchain. The only network it runs with its default configuration is the Ethereum Mainnet. After this, you should see your Polygon WETH balance Metmask and you can transfer WETH to your Metamask wallet address using the Polygon network.

Step 2: Tap on the menu icon on the Metamask home screen.

Now that you have a compatible wallet to try the Polygon network, you’ll also need to bridge some of your crypto to the network to use it. Remember to always use a bridge to transfer tokens from one network to the other, for instance, Ethereum to Polygon. If you transfer the tokens between networks directly, your assets will be lost. Then, click the network selection dropdown menu icon, the one that says ‘Ethereum Mainnet’ at the top right of the extension window.

Solution Provider Network

Enter the amount of Polygon (MATIC) tokens to be transferred to your Metamask wallet from Binance and tap on [Withdrawal]. Once you have created an account on Binance, purchase some MATIC using your credit/debit card, direct bank deposit, third-party payment providers, or via P2P before moving on with the guide below. Binance provides an excellent tutorial on how to do that in this article. Once your wallet is unlocked, tap on the Menu Icon on the top left corner of the Metamask app home screen/dashboard. On the next page, input the custom RPC endpoint for the Polygon Main Network outlined below in the appropriate fields as seen in the next screenshot.

If you are facing any issue, add the network manually according to the steps given below. Choose a secure password to log in to your wallet from your browser. The password is a security measure to prevent anyone using your device from accessing your wallet. If you forget your password, you can always access your crypto with your seed phrase. If you’re creating a new wallet, click the [Create a Wallet] button.

With Polygon set up in MetaMask, you’re free to start making transactions, collecting NFTs interacting with DeFi DApps, and managing your crypto. You can even swap tokens without leaving the extension. MetaMask isn’t just for the Ethereum buy crypto voucher online network and Polygon either; it actually supports the whole Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) blockchain ecosystem, including BNB Smart Chain. By following our guide, you’re now set up to add even more chains and start exploring.

Previously known as the Matic Network, Polygon is a layer 2 scaling solution (or “sidechain”) built on the Ethereum network. It is a decentralized Ethereum scaling platform that has enabled developers to build scalable user-friendly dApps (decentralized apps) with low transaction fees without compromising security. Now, a lot of these solutions have become mainstream in their own right and are here to stay. And we’re not talking about different blockchain networks, though there is no shortage of that either.

Now, tap on [Submit] and complete the 2-step verification by providing the code sent to your phone number, email, and/or authenticator app (Google or Binance authenticator). Next, tap on [Withdraw], search for “MATIC” and select “MATIC Polygon” from the results. Now, select [Send via Crypto Network] from the bottom dialog. On the “Popular” tab, tap on [Polygon Mainnet] to add the MATIC Mainnet to your wallet.

Once you have added funds to your Polygon wallet, you will be able to use various apps on Ethereum using the wallet without having to pay for the exorbitant amount of transaction fees. Once you’ve set up your MetaMask wallet, you simply need to add the Polygon network to your wallet so you can access it. To do that, we will open the side panel of our MetaMask wallet and click the “Expand view” option under the three dots on the top-right.

Finally, tap on [Approve] to add the network to your Metamask wallet. Launch the Metamask app on your mobile device and enter your account password to unlock the app. Below is a step-by-step guide on how you can add the Polygon MATIC network to Metamask easily. To add the Polygon network to your Metamask wallet, you first need to get the correct RPC endpoint details for the Polygon Mainnet (which will be included later in this article). However, do note that you will only be able to transfer these tokens from a fellow Polygon wallet user. In order to view the flow of funds in your accounts, on the Polygon Network, you will need to configure Polygon testnet and mainnet URLs on Metamask.

Now, click [Add Network] on the dialog to add a new network (Polygon) to your Metamask wallet. Enter your account password and click on [Unlock] to unlock your wallet. Once you have the extension installed and correctly set up, click on the Metamask icon in the extensions area of your web browser to launch the Metamask main window. Once you’ve added all the requested information, you can go ahead and click “Save” and the network will be added to your wallet. You will be redirected to a new screen where you will be able to add a custom network. Simply head over to the network dropdown next to the circular logo and select “Add Network”.

Step 1: Launch Metamask and input your account password to unlock the wallet.

Visit Polygonscan to copy the contract address of the token you want to add. If the token is not yet listed on Polygonscan, you can get its contract from the project website, social media accounts, tradingview pivot points or CoinGecko. Basically, Polygonscan is a blockchain explorer for Polygon, just like Ethereum’s Etherscan. As such, you can view Polygon addresses, tokens, transactions, and so forth.

Be careful with fake contracts created by scammers. Interacting with the Polygon blockchain requires a compatible how to add google pay to apple wallet crypto wallet such as MetaMask. However, MetaMask doesn’t have Polygon added as a network by default.

We’re talking about layer 2 solutions built on Ethereum, such as Polygon. Moreover, while Ethereum does not consume outrageous amounts of energy anymore after The Merge, there is still the problem of scalability which layer 2 solutions address. But one thing everyone knows for sure is that you’re going to need a wallet. A wallet is your gateway to blockchain apps.
